On Monday, wireless carrier AT&T has announced the availability of a new application for the BlackBerry Torch 9800, the first sliding device from Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion.

According to the wireless operator, the application was designed so as to offer users the possibility to manage family and individual accounts straight from the mobile phone, while enjoying increased convenience, all at no additional cost.

“Available across multiple operating systems, including most recently Android, the app provides even easier wireless account management to millions of AT&T customers,” the wireless carrier notes.

The myWireless Mobile was designed so as to fit the needs of AT&T's subscribers, the carrier notes, adding that it offers an easy management solution for all users on the go.

Some of the latest features added to the mobile software solution include:

- Schedule Payments – Elect payment date based on when you’ll have funds available - AutoPay – Sign-up for automatic payments and your payment will always arrive on time - Locate Wi-Fi Hotspots – Identify and connect to thousands of Wi-Fi Hotspots nationwide

At the same time, the wireless services provider notes that the new app comes with all of the original features included with it, such as bill payment, tracking of voice and data usage, and more.

“myWireless Mobile is a practical tool that centralizes the customer’s account management needs in a way that is not only fast and efficient – but also free,” said Phil Bienert, vice president, ATT.com.

“With close to five million downloads to date, this app’s popularity underscores its value, and our team is excited to bring it into the hands of even more customers.”

AT&T customers interested in downloading and installing the application on their devices should head over to myWireless Mobile from the phone’s Web browser.

BlackBerry Torch owners can also find the software solution in the AT&T App Center or BlackBerry App World. A myWireless account is needed to use the application.
