Without further notice, Walmart slashed AT&T iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S prices in a surprising move that raises some questions.

It appears that the Walmart employees are informed a week in advance about any price changes, but this time no one has been notified on the new promotional deals.

The guys over at CultOfMac speculate that the same thing happened last year with the iPhone 4’s price, which was dropped to $114 USD (85 EUR) one month before the iPhone 4S was announced.

Anyway, customers who wish to purchase one of the latest smartphones launched by Apple for an excellent price can head over to the nearest Walmart location.

Currently, 8GB iPhone 4 on AT&T is priced at $34 USD (25 EUR), while the 16GB iPhone 4S is now available for only $114 USD (85 EUR). Obviously, both deals require commitment to a new two-year agreement.

UPDATE: It looks like there was a pricing error in some Walmart limited stores, which has been addressed in the meantime. As of now all prices are back to normal: iPhone 4S – $188 USD (145 EUR), iPhone 4 – $88 (65 EUR).
