As long as they have fulfilled the terms of their contract

Mobile phone carrier AT&T has just started to provide its users with the possibility to unlock their Nokia Lumia 900 smartphones, so that they could use them on the airwaves of other operators in the country.

Those who would like to take advantage of the offer will have to have their Lumia 900 paid off, meaning that they will have either fulfilled the contract terms or they will have paid the ETF.

As soon as this is done, users will simply have to call AT&T for an unlock code. Of course, the wireless carrier will ask them to provide the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number of the device, but that should not be a problem for those looking to unlock their phone.

As soon as the Nokia Lumia 900 is no longer locked on AT&T’s network, people will be able to insert a T-Mobile SIM in it and enjoy the services of this wireless carrier.

However, the guys over at WPCentral note that things might not go as smoothly as expected when attempting to unlock the device, although the wireless carrier has confirmed that users can indeed have their handsets freed of the AT&T network.

It appears that not all AT&T representatives have all the necessary info on what the unlocking of a Lumia 900 involves, which means that you might be on the phone with them for a longer period of time.

Some people claim that they have already managed to successfully receive unlock codes from AT&T, and that their handsets are now “free.”

Those who would like to get through this process will be able to find the IMEI number of their handsets through dialing *#06#.

With Nokia Lumia 920 approaching an official release on this wireless carrier’s network, it was only a matter of time before Lumia 900 owners were provided with a treat, and it seems that it has already arrived.

If you own such a device and you do manage to successfully unlock it, let us know how that went in the comment section below.
