Wireless carrier AT&T announced on Monday that it's AT&T U-verse Voice service had just been launched in the Birmingham area, offering users the possibility to enjoy an advanced technology that revolutionizes what they can do with their home phones. According to the operator, users in Birmingham will benefit from a next-generation voice service that comes over AT&T's U-verse Internet Protocol (IP) network.

The new AT&T U-verse Voice service is available for all U-verse TV customers in the Birmingham area that are eligible for the offering, AT&T states. What the new service is set to offer them includes an enhanced level of integration, convenience and control by bringing together all home phone, wireless, broadband and TV services on a single bill.

AT&T U-verse Voice is one more way we’re making all of our services work together for you and connecting you to your world,” said Joe Larussa, vice president and general manager, AT&T Gulf States. “We are thrilled to offer this innovative service to Birmingham customers and make the AT&T U-verse experience better once again. Just like U-verse TV has changed the way people watch television, U-verse Voice will change the way people use their home phone.”

The AT&T U-verse Voice comes as a managed IP-based service that offers great sound quality and reliability to the carrier's users, not to mention impressive calling features that combine the AT&T U-verse TV, broadband and wireless services. Users will get a single, combined voice mail box for their wireless and U-verse Voice messages, will enjoy the U-verse Central portal that enables them to manage call preferences from their PC, and they will also have the opportunity to see their call log on their PC, as well as incoming calls on their TV screen.

The new service
comes with other features as well, including an online voice mailbox, Click to Call, and others. Two U-verse Voice calling plans are available for AT&T's users, U-verse Voice Unlimited (unlimited nationwide minutes to any location in the U.S., Canada or U.S. territories), which goes for $30 per month, and U-verse Voice 250 (250 Call Anywhere minutes to any location in the U.S. or U.S. territories), which is priced at $25 per month.
