Wireless carrier AT&T has started shipping reserved Nokia Lumia 900 devices to its customers, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

The handset will make an official appearance on shelves on April 8th, and it seems that AT&T is making sure that those who pre-ordered it will receive it in time for launch.

Running under Windows Phone 7.5, Lumia 900 will provide users with fast access to applications and services on the carrier’s LTE network. The phone was announced for other markets around the world, but it will lack the fast 4G connectivity in countries outside North America.

The LTE-enabled flavor of the mobile phone will hit shelves in Canada as well, via Rogers; this provider too started shipping pre-ordered units to its customers.

Users in the United States who haven’t had the chance to pre-order a unit for the big launch will be able to get it from all AT&T locations starting this weekend, as well as through the carrier’s website and via retail partners.
