Owners of a Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone on the network of wireless carrier AT&T will be happy to learn that the operator has started to push out a new software update to their devices, none other than the Premium Suite already available for the handset in other markets.

Available for download as build number I747UCDMG2, the update will bring the device up to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, while also offering a nice range of other appealing capabilities and enhancements.

The most important of these is the Multi-Window feature, which will enable users to have more than one application active at the same time on the screen.

The official changelog for the new Galaxy S III firmware includes the following:

- Multi Window: You can open two different apps at the same time into two different windows on the mobile screen.

- Auto Share Shot with NFC: By setting the camera to “Auto Share Shot” mode, you can quickly share your photos and videos by simply tapping their GALAXY S III with other NFC and S-Beam enabled devices

- Camera features: Paper artist and best face options.

- AT&T apps: AT&T services, Drive Mode, AT&T Locker; Family Map, Live TV, and SmartWifi have been loaded.

- Other enhancements: Includes calendar, SD Card, and S-Voice enhancements.

The new version of the software has started to arrive on devices over-the-air, and will be pushed to all existing Galaxy S III units on AT&T’s network. Users who would like to receive it should head over to Settings > About Phone > Software Update and hit Check for updates to grab it.

However, the new firmware will be rolled out in phases, which means that some users will receive it at a later date.

“Beginning August 7, Samsung Galaxy S III customers (including those customers on previous software versions ICS) will receive a device notification users that software update is available for the Samsung Galaxy S III. Wi-Fi is required for update,” AT&T announced.

Users who would like to learn more info on the Samsung Premium Suite new iteration and on how to install it should head over to this page on the carrier’s support website.
