Mobile-phone carrier AT&T announced on Friday the introduction of new, unlimited plans for all of its handsets, so that its customers could enjoy more options when it came to talking, texting or surfing over the Internet. The announcement from AT&T comes shortly after Verizon Wireless, the largest operator in the United States, announced the introduction of new, unlimited plans for its users.

According to AT&T, its customers can benefit from the new options added to its lineup starting with Monday, no matter whether they want to make the purchase from the company's retail stores around the country or online, from its website. At the same time, the carrier noted that the new plans were also available for existing customers who would like to change their current plans, and that no penalty or contract extension would apply.

The new plan options from AT&T included unlimited talk for only $69.99 for all Feature Phone customers, the company stated. Family Talk customers (two lines included in the price) can also enjoy the feature, only that it will cost $119.99 per month for them. However, the texting plans are kept on the same line, namely at $20 for unlimited plans for individuals and at $30 for Family Talk plans.

Other changes announced by the carrier include: - Quick Messaging Device customers may choose unlimited talk for $69.99 and Family Talk plans may choose unlimited talk for $119.99 per month (for two lines). These plans require a minimum of $20 per month for individual plans and $30 per month for Family Talk plans in texting and/or Web browsing packages for new and upgrading customers. - All smartphone customers, including iPhone customers, may now buy unlimited voice and data for $99.99. For smartphone customers with Family Talk plans (prices assume 2 smartphones), unlimited voice and data is now available for $179.99. Texting plans remain unchanged at $20 for unlimited plans for individuals, $30 for Family Talk Plans.

Those AT&T customers who are not into an unlimited voice plan can enjoy Rollover from the carrier, which enables them to keep the minutes that were not used. Moreover, they also have the A-List option, which provides them with unlimited calling to up to ten domestic phone numbers. Additional details on the plan options available from AT&T can be found on the carrier's website.
