AT&T has denied rumors that it is forcing staffers to put in hours between September 21 and September 30 in anticipation of the iPhone 5 launch. According to an AT&T spokesperson, the rumor is simply “not true.”
TechCrunh ran a short story over the weekend about AT&T staff being given a vacation blackout from September 21 to September 30, just like Verizon, adding that “blue carrier employees are undergoing training for an ‘iconic’ release.”
While the rumor may hold water for a single AT&T store, “which may have its own little under-staffed blackout,” 9to5mac says it’s heard a completely different story.
A company rep told the Apple-centric site that the rumor is simply “not true.” An AT&T spokesperson specifically said this morning that “there is no company-wide vacation blackout for the end of September,” according to Seth Weintraub.
