It seems that the Samsung SWD-M100 Mondi WiMAX device is not the only new handset manufactured by the Korean mobile phone maker to receive FCC approval these days. According to the latest news on the Web, a Samsung SGH-a977 Impression has received approvals as well, and it comes featuring AT&T branding.

The new handset is reported to come around with a sliding form factor, and it packs a full-QWERTY keyboard with four rows under the screen. Its 3.2-inch AMOLED display comes with touchscreen capabilities, while also including an accelerometer that would allow it to auto-rotate depending on the position it is held.

The FCC documentation, says phonescoop, also shows that the new Samsung SGH-a977 Impression comes around with support for dual-band GSM frequencies, as well as with support for EDGE and WCDMA data connectivity. Besides these features, the device also comes with Bluetooth radios on board, but these are about all the details that are available at the moment.

There is no information on when the new Samsung SGH-a977 Impression will become available on the market, but we hope that it will make its appearance at CTIA in Las Vegas next week and that more details on it will surface then. Even if the logo on the top of the handset shows clearly that it is to come to AT&T's offering, the mobile phone carrier hasn't said anything about it up until now.

In case nothing surfaces at CTIA, one should consider checking the operator's website to see if anything shows up. Fortunately, this device is bound to make its appearance on the market in the near future, so stay tuned to learn more about its capabilities, launch date or price tag as soon as details are available.
