As mentioned earlier today, AT&T’s LG Optimus G users have started to receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade on their devices, and specific info on what was changed in the software update are now available.

In a recent post on its official blog, the wireless carrier confirmed not only the availability of the update, but also unveiled that there are some appealing enhancements packed inside it.

In addition to the expandable, actionable Notifications, a data usage calculator, a new Tasks app, and other similar enhancements that Jelly Bean was already known to include, the new software also delivers some improvements coming from AT&T themselves.

One of them is the support for Isis Mobile Wallet, now enabled on Optimus G, providing new means of paying for purchases, as long as these are made in Austin or Salt Lake City (the phone also needs a new SIM card to enjoy the mobile wallet app).

“Isis is currently trialing in Austin and Salt Lake City. The Wallet is a free app that stores virtual version of payment and loyalty cards while organizing offers and deals,” the wireless carrier notes in the aforementioned blog post.

“To get started, customers can go to an AT&T store in Austin or Salt Lake City to receive the required special SIM card and download the app. Once the Wallet is activated customers can use the Optimus G to make payments by tapping their phone at participating retailers.”

Furthermore, AT&T recommends users to download the new OS upgrade over a Wi-Fi connection. They will receive a notification on its availability, but can also check for it manually, through going to Settings > General > About phone > Software Update > Update now.

The update will also provide users with improved performance capabilities, as Jelly Bean will be able to take better advantage of the handset’s 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, AT&T notes.
