Muzak gets new BlackBerry services too

In the midst of the iPhone 3G-related craze, AT&T has announced that it will offer wireless services to Muzak, the well-known US provider of music and multimedia services. The new deal was made for three years and sealed for $6.4 million, which now reached AT&T's bank account(s). 40 Muzak US locations and more than 1,300 employees will benefit from AT&T's services.

AT&T will bring to Muzak its IP Flexible Reach, a solution comprising of voice capabilities (both local and long distance) and network-based data services. Moreover, the largest US operator will also deploy an Avaya IPT (Internet Protocol Telephony) system, which allows Muzak to handle its customer calls more easily and enables field representatives to transfer calls, at any time, to any of Muzak's sites.

Talking about the new collaboration with AT&T, Tim Pulliam, vice president, Information Technology, Muzak, said: "Muzak's nationwide service network includes more than 1,300 team members across the United States, and we are constantly looking for new ways to enhance our ability to serve our clients quickly and efficiently. Our telephony solutions are an integral part of an overall communications strategy that assists our sales teams and technicians in delivering the positive and responsive experience our clients expect from Muzak. With our solution from AT&T, we have introduced new efficiencies into our system to streamline employee communications in order to provide even faster response times for our customers. AT&T's focus on our particular needs in the field has resulted in a solution that will readily benefit our clients."

The new AT&T - Muzak deal will also bring the latter new BlackBerry services, provided by AT&T to more than 700 Muzak employees.

Founded back in 1934, Muzak is now offering "background music" for retail stores as well as various institutions and companies.
