Motorola has just announced that a new software update is now available for download for AT&T Motorola ATRIX 2 owners.

Software version 55.13.25 promises to provide users with a better entertainment experience, improved stability, as well as enhanced security of the device.

Those who use the Webtop app will be glad to know that the update brings several enhancements to improve stability and better overall performance.

The update is available for all AT&T Motorola ATRIX 2 users and is pushed OTA (over the air) starting this week. Before updating it is recommended to have the phone’s battery charged for at least 50%. Obviously, an active SIM card is needed as well, along with a stable and reliable Wi-Fi connection.

Motorola ATRIX 2 owners who did not receive a notification message for this update can manually check for the software by going to Setting / About phone / System updates / Download.

The update also brings improvements to the keyboard functionality for a better typing experience, as well as Mobile Hotspot stability improvements.

Several Android security patches from Google and Cisco Any Connect VPN enablers have been included as well for an improved device security.

Motorola Gallery, Music, and Files applications have been renamed for an easier access in the Applications Tray, and a new Google Music application is now pre-loaded on the smartphone.

With Google Music users will be able to access and shop millions of songs and lots of free tracks, as well as store all purchases for free for later use.

Motorola ATRIX 2’s camera has been improved as well. Thanks to the new update, the camera is said to deliver a better overall picture-taking experience.

Last but not least, the update also adds a link to the AT&T Messages app for an easier way to access all of texts, calls and messages which have been stored in the cloud. The same goes for the Amazon Kindle app, which allows users to access their libraries of Amazon digital books faster.
