Mobile phone carrier AT&T announced today the launch of new services for its customers, as well as the addition of new messaging mobile phones to its offering. According to the company, the new Quick Messaging Devices will deliver a new suite of data services that are meant to enhance messaging, video and photo sharing, as well as contacts management. Not to mention that the new handsets come with affordable price tags, so that a wider range of users can enjoy their capabilities.

“Quick Messaging Devices are very important for us - it's a category that we defined for the industry and that we continue to lead in value, quality and innovation,” said David Christopher, chief marketing officer of AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “Quick Messaging Devices are among our most popular and fastest-growing phones. They offer great value - and now will offer cutting-edge services that enhance the overall experience consumers have with these phones.”

One of the new handsets is the Samsung Strive, which will come with the new services pre-loaded on it, including: - AT&T Address Book, though which users can sync contacts to an online address book which offers access both from a mobile phone or a PC, and which is offered for free. - Next Generation Messaging, which brings advanced messaging features to handsets. Group messaging, “reply all” functionality for 10 contacts, threaded conversations format and more are among the features available with the service. - AT&T Mobile Share, another new service from the carrier, offers users the possibility to easily transfer photos and videos from the handset to other destinations. The service is available for $10 per month for 50 media transfers, but one can also chose paying for use, for $0.35 per transfer. The service also comes with 250MB of online storage at no charge, with the possibility to purchase 10GB of storage for $5 per month.

Among the new quick messaging handsets launched by AT&T we can count the Samsung Sunburst and Samsung Strive, as well as the Pantech Link and Pantech Pursuit. The Pantech Link is a slim and light device, with fast access to email, messaging and more. Pursuit comes as a touchscreen device with a vertical sliding keyboard, with a wide range of apps and features pre-loaded, including AT&T Social Net, AT&T Address Book, and social networking sites. Link is expected to arrive in the following weeks, while Pursuit should be launched during summer.
