The latest AT&T Mobile TV device

Today, wireless carrier AT&T announced the launch of a new T&T Mobile TV-capable device, the LG Vu Plus, which is set to become available for purchase on June 6 via all AT&T stores and online on the carrier's website. The new device will arrive in the US exclusively on AT&T's airwaves, while boasting support for HSPA 7.2 Mbps technology, a 4-line QWERTY keyboard, an enhanced user interface, and AT&T Social Net.

“AT&T customers can stay connected to their social circle while on the go with this device,” Michael Woodward, vice president, Mobile Phone Portfolio, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets, commented on the new launch. “LG Vu Plus creates easy access to everything, from social networking to TV shows, while backed by the nation’s fastest 3G network.”

According to the company, the LG Vu Plusis set to offer customers the possibility to enjoy full-length broadcast shows with AT&T Mobile TV. Users will benefit from continuous access to full-length live and time-shifted programming from FLO TV, not to mention content from leading entertainment brands. Those interested in the service will find it available for $9.99 per month, while new subscribers will benefit from the first seven days of service for free.

The features list of the new handset also includes the AT&T Mobile Browser, which packs full HTML browsing capabilities and great customization features, with location-aware local news and weather and more. The AT&T Navigator is supported on the new device too, bringing forth turn-by-turn voice and onscreen driving directions for $9.99 per month, while the included AT&T Social Net comes with easy access to social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.

Starting with June 6, AT&T customers will be able to purchase the new LG Vu Plus at AT&T retail stores across the United States and online from the carrier's website. The price tag for the new mobile phone has been set at $149.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier and after a $50 mail-in rebate (offered as a $50 AT&T Promotion Card).
