AT&T recently announced the release of a free application enabling AT&T U-verse TV customers to easily schedule and manage recordings on their DVR while being on the go. The new U-verse TV Mobile Remote Access App for iPhone and iPod touch available at the Apple App Store enables users to make recordings no matter where they are for no additional charge.

“This is the perfect example of how AT&T is bringing services together to deliver a better experience for customers,” said Jeff Weber, vice president of video services for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “With AT&T U-verse, you get DVR capabilities you can’t find from any other provider, and this app gives users the freedom to schedule their DVR from their iPhone or iPod touch.”

iPhone and iPod touch users will be able to easily search U-verse TV program listings from the program guide through the new application, to view descriptions of programs, the schedule recordings, as well as to easily manage or edit schedule recordings. In addition, the application enables them to delete stored DVR content.

According to the mobile phone carrier, the release of the new U-verse TV Mobile Remote Access App comes in line with a series of other enhancements it has made to DVR and which are being rolled-out at the moment to all of its U-verse TV customers. Among the improvements, we can count an exclusive Total Home DVR feature enabling users to schedule and delete recordings from any U-verse receiver at their home.

Some of the other integrated applications that U-verse TV customers can enjoy include customized, on-screen weather, sports, traffic and stock information through the AT&T U-bar, weather forecasts with Weather On Demand, or the capability to view personal photos on their TV directly from Flickr.
