One of the devices that will arrive on shelves at AT&T in the not too distant future is the ASUS PadFone X, which was detailed in a blog post on the wireless operator’s website on Thursday.

The mobile phone carrier also confirmed plans to add the PadFone X to its offering in the near future but did not offer specific info on when that should happen.

Moreover, although it did provide the necessary details on the hardware specs of this device, AT&T failed to unveil any pricing for it. The company did not say whether users would be able to buy the smartphone and the tablet station separately either.

“Those waiting to get their hands on one of the most innovative devices of the decade, the ASUS PadFone X, are one step closer. Below are the full technical specifications of this phone-tablet dynamic duo – it’s definitely built for speed and longevity,” the wireless carrier announced.

The ASUS PadFone X smartphone will provide users with capabilities in line with those present inside high-end handsets available today, which will certainly make it a great option for many.

The phone comes with a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution at a 441PPI-pixel density.

It is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, complemented by 2GB of RAM, which should ensure increased performance levels for all of its users. At the same time, the handset sports 16GB of internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of external storage.

On the back, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel Pixel Master camera, which should be able to record videos in full HD resolution, complemented by a 2MP front camera for making video calls.

The hardware specs of this handset also include WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, GPS/aGPS, and a 2300mAh battery.

The ASUS PadFone X runs under Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat operating system but also sports a series of exclusive features and capabilities coming from ASUS itself.

Just as other PadFone devices out there, the smartphone is accompanied by a PadFone Station, which sports a 6-inch 1920 x 1200 pixels screen, and a 4990mAh battery inside.

The tablet also features a 1-megapixel camera on the front, measures 250.4 x 172.25 x 11.63mm and weighs 514 grams. It does not have a processor of its own, as it is powered by the CPU inside the smartphone (you’ll have to place the handset inside it for that).
