HTC’s announcement that the One M8 for Windows will be available in the United States exclusively through Verizon did not come as a surprise at all. Images of the smartphone stamped with Verizon’s branding leaked a few days ahead of the official launch, so we knew this will happen.

The Windows Phone version of HTC One M8 is now available for purchase at Verizon for only $100 (€75) on 2-year agreements, but customers can also get it for $600 (€450) outright if they don’t want to commit to a long-time contract.

The good news is that the smartphone has been priced very low at launch, which did not happen with its Android counterpart. But the best thing is that the HTC One M8 for Windows will come to other carriers in the United States as well.

As a matter fact, it’s just one other carrier that confirmed it would offer the high-end Windows Phone, AT&T. There’s a chance that other operators in the country will announce the upcoming availability of the handset as well, but for now these are just speculations.

According to AT&T, “further details on pricing and availability will be announced at a later date,” so there’s no telling exactly when the HTC One M8 for Windows will be available for purchase, but we do suspect it will be priced in the same range as Verizon’s version.

Here is hoping that HTC One M8 for Windows won’t remain a US affair and that the smartphone will be launched worldwide sooner rather than later.
