14 DAY TRIAL // As expected, US carrier AT&T introduced the Samsung Galaxy S6 active, which will be available for purchase in the country exclusively through its official retail channels.
The network operator confirmed that Galaxy S6 active would be available for purchase beginning June 12 via online and brick and mortar AT&T stores, in Camo White, Camo Blue, or Gray.
Moving on to pricing options, AT&T announced that qualified customers would be able to grab the Galaxy S6 Active for $0 down on AT&T Next for $23.17 with 30 device payments on Next 24, $28.96 per month at 24 payments on Next 18, or $34.75 per month at 20 payments on Next 12.
Moreover, AT&T has some promotions for those who decide to go for the Galaxy S6 active. For a limited time, customers who purchase the Galaxy S6 active will also be able to grab the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 for free with a two-year agreement.
Also, the Samsung Wireless Charging Pad will be available for 50% off with the purchase of the smartphone with Next or a two-year agreement.
No microSD slot, but larger battery
Moving on to specs that make the Galaxy S6 active special, the smartphone has IP68 certified casing that is water resistant in up to 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes, shock resistant, and dust proof.
Opposite to what previous rumors claimed, Samsung Galaxy S6 active won't pack microSD card slot for memory expansion, so owners will be limited to 32GB of internal memory.
There's another improvement over the standard Galaxy S6 model, such as the enhanced 3,500 mAh battery. The smartphone also comes preloaded with Activity Zone, a companion for outdoor adventures, a quick launching compass, flashlight, stopwatch, and more.
The Galaxy S6 active is business ready, as it features Samsung KNOX, which provides security and protection right out of the box, along with support for MDM partners.
The smartphone ships with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system right out of the box and fully supports HD Voice. The rest of the phone's specs are similar to those of Galaxy S6 model.
