With a 2-year contract agreement

One of the first mobile phones to have been launched on the market running under Microsoft's newly launched Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system is the HTC Pure, which is available for purchase from wireless carrier AT&T and its retail partners. When purchased free of contract, the handset costs $499.99, yet it goes all the way down to $0.01 when acquired with an AT&T two year contract agreement from Amazon.

Those of you who are interested in the new Windows phone should know that the wireless operator sells it for $149.99 upon the signing of a service agreement for two years and after a $50 mail-in rebate. Although the handset is quite attractive, one should agree that the $149.99 price tag with a 2-year contract does not sound as good as the new offer available on Amazon.

There are a lot of features and capabilities that users will be able to enjoy with this handset, including a 3.2-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, a 5.0-megapixel photo snapper, 512 MB of internal memory coupled with a microSD memory card slot that supports up to 32GB of additional storage space, Bluetooth 2.0, USB connectivity, FM Radio, email, messaging and IM capabilities, speakerphone, and a 1100 mAH battery that delivers up to 5 hours of talk time or up to 15 days of standby time.

However, the capabilities and looks of this Windows Mobile 6.5-powered handset might fade in front of what another Windows phone heading for AT&T is expected to offer, namely the HTC Tilt 2. The wireless carrier announced officially that this second device was coming, yet it hasn't provided a specific release date for it yet. Some of the latest reports on the web suggest that October 18 might be the lucky day for AT&T's users, although the operator is also reported to have already released the device for its business customers.HTC Pure can be found on Amazon here.
