We've known that Microsoft will release the Windows 8 operating system next month (October, 2012), but it never hurts to have extra confirmation, something that ASUS and Lenovo have provided.

Granted, they haven't specifically said it, but a report did it for them. Basically, the two companies will hold launch events for Windows 8 devices on October 25.

Lenovo will use Hong Kong as its staging ground, while ASUS will play on multiple fronts, preparing exhibitions in New York, US, and Taipei, Taiwan.

In the meantime, both companies, but especially ASUS, have started doing all they can to exhaust inventories of notebooks running Windows 7.

It will be interesting to see how many of the electronic devices released next month are powered by AMD APUs instead of Intel CPUs. Regardless, the AppZone app store will have an impact on the number sooner or later.
