ASUS Zenbook NX500 might arrive in time for the holiday season

Back in early March, we brought you news ASUS was gearing up to bring out something really interesting in terms of laptops.

The ASUS Zenbook NX500 was apparently under development, a high-end model sporting an ultra-high resolution standard. There were a few pictures available of the device, but since Milan Design Week is under way, now we can show you the real deal (via Notebook Italia).

As some point in the past, ASUS updated it Zenbook UX51VZ with an impressive 2800 x 1620 pixel resolution, but the NX500 will take things even further offering a capable 3840 x 2160 pixels.

But last month, we could only hypothesize about the complete specification list, the Zenbook NX500 will come equipped with.

This week at Milan Design Week 2014, ASUS unveiled the 15.6-inch Zenbook NX500 Ultrabook with 4K resolution. The new model is a cross between the Zenbook series and the N series, which is dedicated to multimedia.

This is obvious by looking at the model, which comes with a unibody chassis made of aluminum alloy, with built-in speakers at the base of the notebook.

Even if we can’t provide the detailed list of specifications, we can still tell you the latest-gen Intel Haswell chip platform (up to Core i7) combined with 3-4GB of RAM will be pumping life in the notebook.

Back in March, we speculated that since Intel’s next-gen Ultrabooks running the company’s 5th-gen architecture (Broadwell) were scheduled for Q4 2014, it could only make sense the 4K laptop will be powered by Haswell. This week the theory was confirmed.

Moving on, ASUS is going to make available different storage solutions, including a solid-state drive (SSD). This premium Ultrabook is only 19 mm thick and extremely light and thin, as you might expect.

The Zenbook NX500 will provide unmatched audio quality for incredible entertainment via the titanium speakers with SonicMaster audio technology developed by the Bang & Olufsen ICEpower team.

That’s all we can tell you about the new Ultrabook, but take a look at the pictures and video to make a better idea of what ASUS has in store for us.

Pricing specifications or availability date haven’t been made available, but it’s possible the Zenbook NX500 will arrive just in time for Christmas 2014 and will sell for a hefty €2,000 / $2,753. So, if you find ASUS’ new laptop appealing to the eye, you have time to save up.
