ASUS has just released a new beta driver for its Xonar Essence STX audio card. Version 8.0.8.1818 offers a language update for Russian and Japanese.

The fresh release is aimed at Windows 8 only and, because it's a beta driver, we recommend caution, extensive testing and bug reporting to ASUS in order for the company to improve its future drivers.

ASUS' Xonar Essence STX is a very interesting audio card featuring industry-leading 124dB SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio), which is able to achieve a sound up to 64 times clearer than a standard on-board adapter.

On the Xonar Essence STX lies a Texas Instruments TPA6120A2 chip, supporting headphones up to 600ohms of impedance with lower than 0.001% distortion.

Nichicon “Fine Gold” professional audio capacitors are also present on this card, making sure you achieve a rich bass and clear high frequency sound.
