NVIDIA announced its latest-generation graphics cards not so long ago and we have already seen one ASUS laptop boasting the new GPU architecture, in the form of the ASUS ROG GT750 line-up.

But those laptop models are aimed at the high-end gaming crowd, so they might not appeal to the most consumers. That’s why ASUS is offering the next best thing, a multimedia alternative.

Now ASUS has updated its multimedia notebooks, the N550JK and N750JK with the latest GPU standard, adding in both cases NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M GPUs, with options for both 2GB of 4GB of RAM onboard (via Chip.de).

The two laptops come with a full body made of aluminum alloy, blacklit keyboards and full HD resolution. One can differentiate the two models, by virtue of the two screen sizes, one being 15.6-inch and the other 17.3-inches.

The first laptop has an IPS panel while the larger one embeds anti-reflection system, called Enhanced Wide Viewing (EWV).

Both models are fitted with ASUS’ own audio system, called SonicMaster that takes advantage of four speakers and a subwoofer flanked by Bang & Olufsen ICEpower digital amplifier.

On the inside, in addition to the new video cards, users can opt for either Intel Core i5 or i7-4200H-4700HQ processor combined with up to 16GB of RAM. Users can also choose between up to 256GB SSD or up to 1.5TB classic drive for storage and an optic drive combo Blu-Ray-DVD.

Other specifications you should be taking into account when considering if you want to purchase these models include 720p, Gigabit Ethernet modules, Wi-Fi 802.11n with support for the wireless video streaming Intel WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0, 3 USB 3.0 (four in case of the 17-inch model), Mini DisplayPort and HDMI 1.4 out.

Basically there’s everything you could be hoping to find onboard of a multimedia laptop like this. The smaller lappy has a 4000 mAh battery, while the 17-incher boasts a heftier 6260mAh instead, but we’re not told how much they are supposed to last.

Anyway, regardless of the fact these aren’t gaming laptops, they won’t come too cheap and will put a pretty visible hole in your budget. The smaller 15-inch model will bear a price tag between €999 / $1,378 and €1,399 / $1,929 depending on the desired configuration, while the larger one will ship for rates between €1,199 / $1,654 and €1,499 / $2,067.

We currently don’t have any info on whether ASUS will market the models in US or in any other markets across Europe for that matter, but we’ll keep you updated in case anything new shows up.
