If applied, ASUS’ latest BIOS release improves the motherboard’s overall system stability

ASUS has outed a new BIOS package targeted at its H87-PRO motherboard, namely version 1005, which improves the board’s overall system stability, and which might also enhance its performance.

As the producer highlights, applying a new BIOS package is quite risky, and it’s recommended only when the newer version fixes at least one problem that the system has been encountering. Therefore, if your system is running fine, you shouldn’t install this release.

However, in this particular case, you could consider upgrading the BIOS to the latest version (1005), but only if you really need a more stable motherboard or if the system has some stability-related issues.

In order to do that, get and expand the downloadable archive, copy its contents onto a formatted USB drive (FAT32 format), connect the stick to the computer, and reboot the system.

Enter the BIOS setup program, go to Advanced Mode → Tool → ASUS EZ Flash Utility, and press “Enter” to enable it.

Now browse and select the BIOS file from the USB drive using the arrow keys and “Tab” button, press “Enter” to initiate the update, and make sure you restart the computer and load the default BIOS settings when the flash process completes.

That being said, if you need to install a newer BIOS on your board, then download BIOS 1005 for ASUS H87-PRO, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
