ASUS, one of the world's leading vendors of high-performance hardware components, has announced the debut of a new line of EAH5000 series of graphics cards, designed to take advantage of the features and specifications of AMD's new Radeon GPUs. The new lineup includes three cards, based on the Radeon HD 5970, the HD 5770, and the 5750, all of which have been designed to deliver support for overclocking, performance, and an effective cooling solution.

Kicking off with the company's new EAH5970/G/2DIS/2GD5 model, users will be able to enjoy the full performance of AMD's latest high-end GPU, but with support for overclocking. The card itself is featured with reference clock speeds, namely a 725MHz engine clock, 2GB of GDDR5 memory on a 2 x 256-bit interface and a clock speed of 4000MHz. Additional features include HMDI, DVI and DisplayPort connectivity and support for the ATI CrossFireX and Eyefinity technologies.

The interesting part about the new model is that it comes bundled with ASUS' Voltage Tweak technology, which essentially enables users to raise their GPU's voltage from 1.05V to 1.35V, consequently enabling the GPU's core to be tweaked from 725MHz to 950MHz, while the memory can go up to 5012MHz, according to ASUS. These tweaks are said to provide the end-user with a performance boost of approximately 31%.

The EAH5770 and EAH5750 have been equipped with the company's Formula cooling solution, featuring the company's proprietary Micro Surface Treatment for a head dissipation improvement of up to 14%. In addition, the two cards have been featured with the company's Xtreme Design, which includes the GamerOSD and SmartDoctor applications, enabling real-time overclocking.

As far as numbers go, the two cards sport a core speed of 850MHz and 700MHz, respectively. Both are equipped with 1GB of GDDR5 memory, working at speeds of 4800MHz and 4600MHz, respectively, while the connectivity options include DVI, HDMI and D-Sub.

No word on pricing as of yet, but the high-end Radeon HD 5970 model will be available with a bundled Colin McRae: DiRT 2, one of the most anticipated gaming applications this year.
