ASUS is teasing an unannounced product in a recent video

Back at Computex 2014, ASUS introduced the new Transformer Pad TF103 and TF303 with Android 4.4 KitKat running out of the box.

But if you still haven’t had enough of Transformer Pads, we have good news for you. ASUS has just posted an official video teaser on their YouTube channel and in the process revealed the previously unknown Transformer Pad TF303K.

Surely, this is a variation of the previously announced TF303(CL) model, which will probably be sold for a lower, more attractive price.

Most of its features seem to be in league with those of the ASUS TF303CL, including the magnetic and elegant MagSmart hinge. However, the TF303K seems to be more economical, coming with a coating made of polycarbonate with a keyboard that seems to be made of aluminum alloy.

The tablet arrives with a 10.1-inch screen offering FHD resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels). The major difference between the two lies in the processor department. While the Computex TF303 takes advantage of an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor, things under the hood of the TF303K are a little bit different.

Instead, ASUS throws in a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 SoC, a chip that’s two years old. Nevertheless, due to its quad-core 1.5GHz CPU, it will still be able to get the job done.

The system is fitted with 2GB of RAM, but we’re not being told how much internal storage ASUS is offering. We do speculate that customers will be given the standard 16GB.

The spec list is completed by a dual-band Wi-Fi module (2.4 / 5GHz), Micracast streaming technology and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, with ASUS’ proprietary Zen UI plastered on top.

The tablet/laptop hybrid will arrive pre-bundled with ASUS software like the What’s Next app, which sets up daily reminders for the activities you should be completing each day. Other apps include Do It Later (for organizing daily task), the Omplet chat program and Share Link (allows you to share content fast).

What we’re not being told by the video is how much the new device will cost or when we’re going to see it arrive in the wild. We’ll keep you informed as the details are made available.

In the meanwhile, the ASUS Transformer Pad TF103, which is the less advanced version of the TF303 has already been made available for pre-order. The device offers 1280 x 800 pixel resolution but bundles Intel Atom architecture.
