It's a good thing that the company is going to hand it out for free

Owners of ASUS' Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet may be having trouble with their GPS connection, in that it doesn't work at all.

We suppose there are some people whose Prime works fine, but the general GPS reception is bad.

Alas, even after so much time, ASUS has failed to come up with a software fix.

Of course, that is understandable. There isn't much a program can do about that metal plate covering the receiver after all.

At least the company is doing something about it anyway, even if it is a last resort.

According to some e-mails posted on the XDA Forums, ASUS is going to release a GPS dongle to compensate, one that will "be a flush fit on the bottom of the unit if held in landscape, matching the color of your Prime Chassis."

The GPS Extension Kit will be available by the middle of the month (April, 2012) for all customers.
