The update arrives over-the-air but you have some waiting to do

The ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T was introduced back in June 2013 and the device came running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.

Now owners of the device mentioned above can get excited because ASUS is finally rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the tablet/laptop convertible.

The update arrives over-the-air (OTA) and will hit devices gradually. That means it might take a while before the KitKat build arrives on your device. But if you’re feeling pro-active and willing to take initiative, there’s the possibility of performing the upgrade manually.

For those who can't wait any longer, you should know ASUS has put up the update files on its website, where you can download them from.

It’s quite nice to see ASUS hasn't forgotten all about its older devices and is dedicated to keeping them update with the latest software updates, even if it’s a little bit late.

The ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T arrives with a 10.1-inch display boasting 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. Power comes from an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor fitted with 2GB of RAM and backed up 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.

Albeit being a 2013 device, the ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T remains a very worthy hybrid and the update to Android’s latest is more than welcomed.
