ASUS has launched its Transformer Pad TF701T tablet in the US in late October. It came sporting a 10-inch WQXGA screen with an impressive 2560 x 1600 pixel density.

Asus has slipped a powerful Nvidia Tegra 4 ARM Cortex-A15 quad-core processor under the hood, coupled with 2GB of RAM. Like any other slates out there, it also offers a microSD card slot, HDMI out and two cameras (5MP rear one and 1.2MP frontal one) and Miracast wireless display technology.

The device ships with the now traditional keyboard and ASUS claims the slate offers a pretty nifty battery life of up to 13 hours.

Now the Transformer Pad runs Android 4.2.2 out the box, and with the new Android KitKat 4.4 update being pushed to tablets like the Nexus 7 (2013 & 2012) and Nexus 10, an update in the OS department is indeed needed.

So, ASUS has announced it's planning an Android 4.3 OTA update scheduled November 18, reports AndroidPolice, so keep an eye out for the update button in the settings app.

Apart from the already known Android 4.3 feats, the update will improve battery life, dock battery charging and trackpad responsiveness. It should be noted that the keyboard offers a secondary battery that extends battery life up to 17 hours.

For those that were hoping to get the KitKat update instead, do not lose hope, ASUS will probably push it out soon.
