Those who don’t want to wait for ASUS to push the official update have a choice

Owners of the ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T have received the Android 4.3 update back in November, but a few months later there’s still no word concerning a possible KitKat upgrade.

So if you’re getting restless in anticipation, you should know you could update to Android’s latest build by virtue of CyanogenMod 11 (via TheDroidBasement, where you’ll be finding the download links too).

However, before you proceed, note that installing the custom ROM will void your device warranty, but if you’re still willing to go ahead, keep reading.

Those performing the operating must be unlocked and be on 10.26.1.18 boatloader (you must have ASUS’s 4.3 release to have it).

Here are installation instructions for TF701T owners willing to jump onboard of the KitKat bandwagon.

-boot in to bootloader (power and vol +/-) -fastboot boot recovery.img (you can fastboot flash recovery recovery.img for permanence) -adb shell mount /data -adb push cm-11-2014MMDD-UNOFFICIAL-tf701t.zip /data/media/ -take a nandroid backup -flash cm-11-2014MMDD-UNOFFICIAL-tf701t.zip -transfer and flash gapps for CM11: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps -it is best to wipe when coming from stock -reboot

You should now be having Android 4.4 on your ASUS Transformer PadTF701T
