ASUS Taiwan has set up a dedicated page for the product

Last week we told you that the rumored ASUS Transformer Pad TF502T had been spotted receiving its Bluetooth SIG certification.

A few months ago, we also saw the same device go through the FCC, but back then it was speculated that it was actually the next-gen Google Nexus 10, which by now we all know it wasn't.

So far, the new model has been in and out of the realm of speculation, but now ASUS Taiwan has put up a page for the product, thus making it official.

The ASUS Transformer Pad TF502T turns out to be a new repackaging of the TF600T model which ran Windows RT. Instead, this new model offers Android out of the box.

Older rumors claimed that the TF502T would draw power form an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and will have a Super IPS+ 10-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Now their validity seems to have been confirmed.

Apart from that, we now know that the display is coated with a protective Corning Fit Glass to minimize possible damage.

The IPS screen should give the tablet a nice 178 degrees viewing angle and ASUS claims that, due to the embedded brightening technology, users should have no problem bringing their slate with them outdoors.

Furthermore, customers will find Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/b, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, two cameras (8MP camera with flash on the back and 2MP sensor in front).

The tablet also has four speakers equipped with ASUS’ own SonicMaster technology, which will allow users to enjoy stereo sound in landscape or portrait mode.

Even if Android 4.4 KitKat has been out for some time now, don’t expect to see it on this device. ASUS has barely pushed out Android 4.3 for some of its models, but since this is a “new” tablet, who knows what surprises the company will offer.

The new Transformer will also be offered with a keyboard dock coming with an extra battery, pushing the device’s overall life span to 16 hours.

Since ASUS has already set up the product’s page online, we’re most likely to see the device in the wild at Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress next month.
