ASUS has outed a new firmware package, namely the 10.6.2.6 version, that is targeted at its Transformer Pad TF300TL mobile tablet.

The newly released version improves not only the device’s battery life when it is in standby mode, but the Transformer Pad’s stability as well.

However, you should be very careful with the upgrade, because this firmware can be applied only on devices that have a WW SKU (stock-keeping unit) version.

Bear in mind that the update process isn’t capable of switching between SKUs, and installing a wrong or earlier one might not be supported, and may lead to an update failure, therefore, device malfunction.

To check what is your currently installed version, go to Settings → About Tablet → Build number, and there you should be able to read the SKU that consists of the letters before the first underscore line.

Just to be clearer, if from the build number you read “WW_epad-9.X.X.X_2012xxxx” or something similar, then the SKU installed on the Transformer Pad will be “WW.”

That being said, follow the link below, and download the latest firmware available for your device.
