The newly released package might improve the device’s overall performance and stability

ASUS has outed a new firmware package targeted at its Transformer Pad TF300T Android tablet, namely version 10.6.1.27.1, which consists of separate download records compatible with a specific SKU (stock-keeping unit).

Because no official changelog is provided along with the release, I can only assume that the new firmware may improve the tablet’s overall performance and stability. However, you can update to this version in order to find out what the changes really are.

An important aspect that I must highlight would be that every firmware package is developed for a specific SKU, so for updating, you must know what your device’s currently installed one is.

Therefore, if you don’t know it, go to Settings → About Tablet → Build Number, and from there you should be able to read the stock-keeping unit (if your build number is “WW_epad-9.X.X.X_2012xxxx,” then the SKU will be “WW”).

Another aspect that you must take into account is that the update process isn’t able to switch between SKU versions or to install an earlier one. If tried, this could lead to an update failure, and moreover, serious damage to the device.

So, to do this right, follow the link below, and from the list of available stock-keeping units, make sure to choose the one that best describes yours.
