The price is a bit steep right now, but it should drop soon

The upcoming tablet from ASUS has finally shown up for pre-order, but people might want to hold off on lunging for it.

We say this because Tablette Store stuck a price of 500 Euro to it, which goes against the item's initial description as an affordable slate.

There's also the fact that US retailer J&R will have the tablet up soon too, for just $380.

Spec-wise, the Transformer Pad TF300T measures 10.1 inches (the display has 1,280 x 800 resolution) and runs on the NVIDIA Tegra 3.

ASUS also tossed in an 8 megapixel camera, 32 GB of storage, WiFi and various color options (white, red, blue), plus a keyboard dock (not included, sells for $150 / 114 Euro).

Of course, the operating system is none other than Android 4.0, or Ice Cream Sandwich as it is otherwise known.

No clue when shipments will begin, but the FCC filing passed over a month ago, so it shouldn't be long.
