ASUS has set up an official product page for the device

In February, it was revealed that ASUS was preparing what could be considered the successor of the popular Transformer Book T100.

Then, the new Transformer Book T200 was spotted on the grounds at Computex 2014 not so long ago, being put on display for the world to see.

Back then, the company didn't say when the device would become available, but judging by the fact ASUS has set up a dedicated page for the product on its official site, we can guess it won’t take long before customers are able to pick up the new device.

The original Transformer Book T100 is currently one of the most appreciated Windows 8 tablets on the market, which delivers both flexibility and versatility for a decent amount of money.

But if the 10.1-inch display wasn't enough for you and you were craving a similar product with a more spacious screen, the Transformer Book T200 is where you need to look.

We should also note at this point that a new version of the original Transformer Book T100 appears to be scheduled to arrive next month and will bring about the extra LTE functionality, which was a major complaint of current T100 owners.

The product appearing on the ASUS official website comes with 64GB of internal storage, but it’s sensible to assume that a 32GB model will be made available, too.

Anyway, the tablet/laptop hybrid arrives with an 11.6-inch IPS screen offering 1366 x 768 pixels res. It’s a pity ASUS didn't upgrade the resolution, since the bump to full HD could have attracted the attention of more demanding users.

The convertible arrives with a 500GB hard drive embedded in the keyboard dock, and unlike with its predecessor, this option will be made available from the get-go.

In the computing department, the new device relies on an Intel Atom Z3775 with four 1.4GHz cores with bump speeds going up to 2.39GHz. The processor works in concert with 2GB of RAM, so there’s no major difference compared to the predecessor.

ASUS seems to have focused only on increasing the screen size and adding 500GB of internal storage in the keyboard dock from the start. On top of that, the convertible arrives with a smart drive tray so you can add even more hardware onboard. Just remove the tray slide up the up to 1TB hard drive and you’re done.

Other specs include a USB 3.0, which goes to live in the keyboard dock, Bluetooth 4.0, and HDMI out port.

Back at Computex we reported that the 32GB version with 500GB hard drive would be sold for $399 / €399, which is just a little bit more than the 10.1-inch model. However, this is yet to be confirmed and we’re still waiting for the pricing specifications for the 64GB model, as ASUS hasn't shared them on the official product page.
