Albeit not being announced yet, the Transformer was put on display in Taiwan

ASUS was mighty busy at Computex in Taiwan these past few days. The PC maker unveiled a plethora of tablets, convertibles and dedicated gaming laptops, all for the pleasure of the most avid ASUS fans.

To remind you, ASUS rolled out three new Transformer Book hybrids with Windows 8.1 (although one of them should be a dual-boot machine) and two Transformer Pads running Android 4.4. KitKat out of the box.

But among so many product unveilings, we couldn't help but notice something was missing. Back in May, we told you the ASUS Transformer Book T200 surfaced in a retail listing, showing us the producing company has plans of finally refreshing the Book T100 model.

Even if ASUS didn't make any mentions of the Transformer Book T200TA, the folks of Mobile Geeks managed to spot it on the grounds at Computex 2014.

For those who don’t know, the Transformer Book T100TA is a 10.1-inch device that sells for the relatively affordable price of $349 / €349 and ships with a free version of Office too, thus making it a very popular device for consumers.

However, those appreciating more spacious displays will be interested in what the Transformer Book T200TA has to offer.

The device arrives with an 11.6-inch IPS LCD display with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. It’s a real shame ASUS hasn't bumped things up in this department by providing the Full HD option, but some users might let this slide.

Moving on, the tablet-laptop combo draws power from an Intel Atom Z3775 processor with four 1.4GHz cores with burst speeds of up to 2.39GHz fitted with 2GB of RAM and backed up by either 32GB or 64GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD card).

Moreover, the T200TA should arrive in retail with a microUSB port, microHDMI output, 5MP camera on the back and a 38Wh battery.

The keyboard dock bundles a spacious trackpad, QWERTY keyboard, USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and Ethernet port. There’s also the choice of adding a 500GB in there, if you feel you need extra storage.

Albeit being forgotten by ASUS at Computex, thus remaining an announced device, the Transformer T200TA has already showed up on some website, indicating it shouldn't be long before we could pick one of these babies up.

At the moment, it appears the 32GB version with 500GB hard drive in the dock will be sold for $399 / €399, which is just a tad more than the 10.1-inch model, but doesn’t put a strain on your wallet. Of course, we’re just speculating this is the real price, for now.
