ASUS solves one of the problems of the Transformer Book T100

The ASUS Transformer Book T100 hybrid has been hailed as quite a capable product by both reviewers and customers who managed to get their hands on it. But as with many devices, the Transformer Book T100 has its shortcomings and one of them is its limited connectivity.

However, ASUS has paid attention to the wants and needs of its customers, and as reported by the French, MiniMachines is planning to bring out a 4G variant of the Transformer Book T100.

The device will be made available starting next month and will come embedded with an LTE modem. Thus, future owners will be able to use the T100 anywhere they go, provided they get the appropriate 3G or 4G signal.

The model launched back in 2013 and offers a 10-inch screen with the average 1366 x 768 resolution that can be found in any laptop out there. The advantage is that you can use the Transformer as a tablet and as a notebook too.

However, as much as we have hoped, ASUS seems reluctant to provide a version that arrives with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution or something better. The company is probably trying to keep prices as low as it possibly can.

The original model landed in retail with a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z3740 Bay Trail processor at its core, but since then ASUS has updated things in the computing department a little bit, by bringing forth a model that takes advantage of a slightly improved 1.47GHz Atom Z3775 chip.

The new chip retails the properties of the original processor, so you’ll still be getting a low-power, quad-core one that should deliver a moderate performance boost.

It’s also worthy to note the T100 will be embedding an Intel Atom Z3735 processor clocked at 1.83GHz, so it seems ASUS has taken things further in the hardware department, too.

Furthermore, ASUS has also added two new coloring options, so customers are able to pick up the device in either red or white.

The 4G addition constitutes the latest update ASUS is willing to throw in for its popular Transformer Book T100 device.

The new machine has already been listed online, and it appears the version coming with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage will be sold on the old continent for €499 / $671, while the 32GB can be yours for €449 / $604. Yet, when the product reaches US shores, customers will probably be able to pick it up for less.
