ASUS is one of the industry's pioneers when it comes to new Intel Atom-powered computer systems, a fact that is mainly proven by its impressive line of Atom-based netbooks and nettops. Now, with Windows 7 just around the corner, the company has decided its time to further update its lineup with the introduction of the new EeeTop ET2002T, a 20-inch touchscreen nettop that has recently been made available in France.
Initially showcased earlier this year, at Computex, the new system has been designed to provide users with a choice for a touchscreen system that mixes Intel's Atom processors with NVIDIA's ION chipset.

Pierre Lecourt from French-language Bloggee has just posted an article on the new system, with a list of technical specifications and photos. According to the aforementioned website, the new EeeTop model has been featured with a 20-inch touchscreen display, capable of a 1600 x 900 resolution, powered by NVIDIA's Ion chipset. Inside, the low-power system mixes a dual-core Intel Atom 330 1.6GHz processor with 2GB of RAM and a 250GB 5400RPM hard drive. Additional features include Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi b/g/n, four USB 2.0 ports, card reader and even an HDMI connector, which enables the system to be used as an external display.

To further sweeten the offer on this 20-inch all-in-one from ASUS, the Taiwanese company has also bundled a wireless keyboard and a mouse, all within a package that is priced at €598 ($845). Thanks to the integration of NVIDIA's Ion platform, the system will most likely be shipped with a choice for a Windows Vista operating system, which could also include an upgrading kit for the upcoming Windows 7 OS.

It looks like, as we are getting closer to the release of Microsoft's much-anticipated operating system, more system vendors are rolling out new NVIDIA Ion-based solutions, capable of providing the end-user with a high-quality Windows 7 experience in an affordable and low-power package.
