ASUS has launched the T500 3.5GHz High Speed PC card for users that need a fast connection and high speed capabilities. This PC card is able to sustain a 3.6Mbps data download rate, while offering phone communication facilities for desktop or laptop PC.

ASUS T500 PC add-on card is designed to be slim and have a low profile. Putting to good use the capabilities of the PCIe bus that connects it to the host system, T500 delivers high data download and upload speeds, while providing strong phone-like functions that allow phone calls to be made or received on the user's laptop or desktop PC. In accordance with recent trends, where laptops have migrated from the aging PCIMCIA standard to the newer PCIe, T500 fully supports this new standard bus.

Among the capabilities and features of ASUS T500, there's the audio path from the PC that supports voice call functions, while the bundled software suite provides extensive phone and phone book management. Data synchronization between different systems is easily done. T500 makes it easy to send and receive SMS messages, as the PC interface is used to edit and to read the messages. Because it was intended as a truly mobile solution, ASUS T500 supports multiple wireless standards like GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, as well as WCDMA 2100/1900/850 access services.

Centered on user-friendliness, T500 makes it easy for users to setup the audio configuration features. Using the built-in wizard, the T500 add-on card automatically detects SIM cards and configures itself, without the need for user input or supervision. When multiple networks exist in the same general area, T500 can select the best one available, based on the speed reported and network profiling, which makes it easy to save different settings for different networks. The T500 supports Multilanguage functionality with support for Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese languages. The T500 is also able to automatically upgrade itself when first launched via a Live Update - ensuring that users get the latest version of software updates automatically.
