For months ASUS has been claiming to be preparing more than one tablet PC, and the outfit might just finally bring them out during the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show, set to take place between 6 and 9 January.

Early this year, slates went from potentially non-viable (from a marketing standpoint) to flourishing consumer products in an arguably short time.

Over the past months, many PC makers have done their best to ensure that their respective tablets would be ready for CES.

Since the show always acts as a stage for many new series of products, it is just natural for IT companies to try and draw as much consumer attention as possible.

During CES 2011, tablet PCs will likely have a prominent role, as they proved quite popular over the past year and will come in many shapes and sizes.

Some of them will run an ARM processor and the Android operating system, while others will choose the Intel-Windows combo.

ASUS will no doubt be one of the players that demonstrates at least one such product, like the 12-inch Eee Pad, in addition to convertible tablet personal computers at least.

In fact, a certain website recently got a hold of some photos used by ASUS as a means to tease its customers about the devices.

Two tablets seem to be revealed, one of which is a keyboard-equipped tablet PC and the other a media slate.

Both have displays with a diagonal length of 10.1 inches and are expected to start shipping sometime during the first quarter of 2011.

The convertible probably uses an Intel platform, perhaps the new Oak Trail, and has USB 3.0, though no other hardware details are known. It should be loaded with the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.

As for the probably Android-loaded media slate, it runs the NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC (system-on-chip), has a camera on the back and boasts full support for touch input.
