Computer maker ASUS is reportedly gearing up for the launch of a new 7-inch tablet PC at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this month, and some more info on the device has emerged.

Rumor has it that the device will land on shelves with an Intel Atom Z242 processor packed inside, as well as with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, and a 7-inch 1280 x 800 IPS screen.

Furthermore, the new tablet PC should sport a 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back, along with support for 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. Bluetooth and GPS are also said to have been included inside the device.

According to DigiTimes, the new device would arrive on shelves with a price tag of around NT$8,000-9,000 (US$271-$305 / €200-225) attached to it, which should enable ASUS to compete with devices such as Nexus 7 and MeMO Pad.
