All-in-one personal computers are not as popular as other types of systems, such as netbooks, notebooks or desktops, but there are scenarios where they are more suited than such systems because of their space efficiency. ASUS has been selling Eee Top all-in-ones for about a couple of years, but it has yet to release a model based on Pine Trail.
This is set to soon change, however, as the company was
revealed to be putting the finishing touches on the Eee Top ET1610PT, with Intel Atom and GMA graphics
Overall, the system's specs are not exactly mountain-moving, though it is possible that this model will turn out to be only one in a line of Pine Trail-based computers. The system is powered by the single-core Intel Atom D410 Pine Trail central processing unit and comes with 1GB or 2GB of RAM, a hard disk whose storage capacity is of 160GB and the GMA 3150 graphics.
The PC measures 511 x 405 x 53mm, weighs 7.2 kg and has a 15.6-inch touchscreen display with a maximum resolution of 1600 x 900. In addition, the system is equipped with six USB ports, a 5-in-1 card reader, 10/100/1000 Ethernet and 802.11b/g/n WiFi. Furthermore, the computer-in-a-display runs the Microsoft Windows XP operating system.
Unfortunately, there is neither real information on the actual availability of the product nor any indication of any plans for ASUS to release a version with a dual-core processor or stronger graphics. Still, the price seems to at least be known and, according to Notebook Italia, it is set at 400 Euro. Notebook Italia also reports that ASUS will be releasing, along with the Eee Top ET1610PT, the Asus Eee Top ET1610P, a version largely identical to the former, except for the fact that it uses a regular screen without touch capabilities.
