ASUS has outed a new beta firmware package targeted at some of its routers, namely beta version 3.0.0.4.374.2239 developed for the RT-N66R, RT-N66U, and RT-N66W devices, which is also compatible with the RT-AC66R and RT-AC66U wireless products.

This latest firmware version fixes several UI and wireless-related issues, resolves problems regarding the openVPN and HTTPD features, and also adds support for USB hub.

In addition to that, ASUS’ release changes the MTU clamping rules and the Wi-Fi security descriptions, enhances Web UI performance, and modifies the network map replay mechanism. Moreover, the AiDisk setup wizard has also been changed in order to avoid any security-related problems.

When it comes to installing this package, you should know that the release is still a beta version, therefore the producer cannot be held responsible for any damage encountered as a result of this update. So, either apply this version at your own risk, or wait for a stable build that satisfies your needs.

That being said, download Firmware 3.0.0.4.374.2239 Beta for ASUS RT-N66 or download Firmware 3.0.0.4.374.2239 Beta for ASUS RT-AC66 (depending on which device you own), apply the package, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
