Dual-band wireless routers seem to come out a lot these days, as if the 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity can't do anything on its own anymore, no matter how untrue it is. ASUS just launched a new model.
To be fair, 2.4 GHz bands do have a significantly lower data transfer limit compared to 5 GHz.
In this case, it is of 600 Mbps, while the 5 GHz radio frequency allows for 1,300 Mbps.
That boils down to a total of 1,900 Mbps, which is quite a lot considering that the “normal” dual-band routers work at 750 Mbps (300 + 450).
It's thanks to the 802.11ac Wi-Fi specification, which enables greater transfer rates.
In addition to three antennas, the ASUS RT-AC68U, as the router is called, has a USB 3.0 port, one Internal LAN connector, and four LAN ports.
