ASUS has launched a new ROG Nomad backpack especially designed to be a companion for the ROG (Republic of Gamers) device family.

Basically, the company is providing ROG owners with a lightweight and durable backpack for your notebook (up to 17 inches) which will protect the laptop from bumps, while the user is on the move.

The rucksack is equipped with rich padding of the shoulder straps and its backrest will help ROG owners carry their device in safety and comfort.

The backpack also contains a bunch of dedicated compartments for other components users might need while gaming.

For example, there’s a dedicated hook for headphones or Orion ROG Vulcan, pockets for a single keyboard, mouse, camera, adapters, cables and so on.

Some of the exterior pockets can accommodate mobile phones, music player and are positioned so users can have quick access to it.

The ergonomically designed interior is supposed to help keep everything in order and should provide a decent distribution of weigh during transportation, so your back doesn't suffer too much in the process.

To guarantee the backpack will survive the longest trips, the ROG team has submitted the Nomad to 1,000 and 2,000-cycle pull tests.

To make the backpack so light yet durable and water-resistant on top, ASUS used 1680D ballistic nylon to build this travel companion. The Nomad has a capacity of 8 liters and has been tested and proved to be capable of sustaining 30 kg / 66 lbs.

Design wise, the Nomad comes all in black with red accents, a trademark of the ROG brand, and its notebook compartment measures 32 x 5 x 42 cm / 13 x 1.9 x 17 inches.

The backpack will be available in Europe and Taiwan in February, through regional ASUS shops, and later on to North America for $149.99 / €110 a pop.
