It bears the familiar black and red color scheme and should be quite silent

Motherboards are all well and good if you know how to build your own PC, but if you don't, or if you just like the pre-made ones better (there are some nice-looking ones out there after all), then you might appreciate things like the new ROG G20 Gaming Desktop from ASUS.

If you see it from the front or the back, it almost looks like one of those thick document holders with metal rails to keep foils in place.

You could even make a good case for likening it to a hardcover book. If the book came in a fancy case anyhow.

It still looks more like something out of a Sci Fi film though. And that was probably the point.

Winner of the Gaming Desktop award at Computex 2014, the gaming PC is part of the ASUS Republic of Gamers line and has a volume of 12.5 liters.

It doesn't have any vents, from what we can see, yet the insides still hold an Intel Core i7 CPU and NVIDIA GTX 780 Graphics safely.

The lack of vents keeps noise inside, which is why there are never more than 25 dB of noise. The case must be a heatsink itself to achieve that.

ASUS has also included lighting on the outside of the case, adjustable to any of 8 million different colors. The wonders of RGB LEDs, we suppose.

The ASUS ROG G20 Gaming Desktop, complete with Evo Energy Mode (cuts power to 20W), will have a price of $1,700 / €1,250 when it starts shipping in Q3 2014.
