HP may already be shipping a notebook powered by an Intel Sandy Bridge central processing unit, and while ASUS has not yet made its own offer available, it did let the web receive the photos of those laptops it will soon unleash.

As end-users must know by now, Intel will soon make its Sandy Bridge series of central processing units widely available.

Once that happens, a whole slew of new systems based on them will sprout up, especially laptops.

Of course, being the major supplier of mobile personal computers that it is, ASUS will have quite a few such products on sale soon enough.

Granted, the outfit did not mirror HP, whose first Sandy Bridge laptop is already on sale, but won't take too long in making its own move either.

What the company did was detail and provide pictures of the mainstream N53SV and N73SV notebooks.

The ASUS N53SV measures 15.6 inches, while its bigger sibling, the N73SV, has a screen size of 17.3-inches.

Both of them use the same central processing unit, namely the 2.0 GHz quad-core Core i7-2630QM.

Said chip is backed up by 4 GB of RAM and paired with the NVIDIA GeForce GT540M discrete graphics card, whose own amount of VRAM is 1GB.

The two also boast a variety of hard disk drive options, plus audio by Bang & Olufsen, for excellent sound to complement the video capabilities of the DirectX 11 GPU.

Finally, the N53SV and N73SV come with HDMI outputs, so that they may stream to auxiliary monitors or HDTVs, plus USB 3.0 connectivity.

The prices of these two siblings go from $1,197 upwards and CES 2011 will no doubt have them on display at their maker's booth. All that remains is for users to start saving up and wait until online stores finally begin to accept and deliver orders.
