Early last month, Sunnyvale, California-based Advanced Micro Devices introduced its latest desktop chipset, one that would provide consumers with a completely new line of motherboards, coming from a wide range of vendors. On that note, ASUS, one of the world's leading vendors of motherboards and a bunch of other computer-related products, is expected to announce a series of new boards, some of which will be based on the fresh, new 880G chipset. Such is the case with the M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3, a board that should be out soon and that has recently been featured in a series of photos that have surfaced online.

The board's not yet official, but a series of photos have surfaced on a Chinese website, practically confirming that the Taiwanese company is about to launch it for consumers worldwide. According to available details, the upcoming AM3-ready motherboard will be featured with a core unlocking function, enabling enthusiasts to boost their systems’ performance, by taking full advantage of those AMD processors that come with a locked core.

Additionally, the board will also provide consumers with a series of features that include the company's Express Gate instant-on OS, the TurboV overclocking solution and the ASUS EPU (Energy Processing Unit), all of which are designed to enable a better computing experience for them. There are also four DDR3 memory slots, a Radeon HD 4250 IGP, with SidePort memory and two PCI-Express x16 slots, featuring CrossFireX support.

The board comes with one eSATA and five SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, two USB 3.0 ports, 7.1 channel audio, a FireWire port, Gigabit Ethernet and D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectors. Unfortunately, there aren't any details regarding the pricing of this AMD-based motherboard, but it looks like it should appear in stores in two to three weeks. We expect ASUS to unveil more 880-based boards, ultimately providing consumers with a full lineup.
