The Android-based smartphone-tablet combo has yet to be officially confirmed for China

Computer maker ASUS is expected to make its Padfone 2 smartphone-tablet PC combo available for purchase in China before the end of February, new reports on the matter suggest.

No official confirmation on the matter has emerged so far, it seems, but it should not be too long before ASUS makes a formal announcement on this.

For those out of the loop, we should note that ASUS Padfone 2 was launched in October last year, with a 4.7-inch 720p Super IPS+ touchscreen display and a quad-core APQ8064 SoC inside.

The device also sports a 13-megapixel camera on the back, front camera for video calling, 2GB of RAM, a 2,140 mAh fixed battery, and 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of internal memory.

The Android-based device is paired with a 10.1-inch 1,280 x 800 IPS tablet that also sports a 5,000 mAh battery.
