ASUS has recently launched a firmware update for their PadFone Infinity 2-in-1 product. Version 10.6.8.1 comes with no changelog or installation notes. All ASUS provides is a warning regarding the SKU version.

In order for the update to apply properly, one must first check the SKU version of the device.

To do so, one must navigate through the “Settings” menu, tap “About PadFone” and look at the build number that should look like “CHT_PadFone-9.X.X.X.” In this case, “CHT” represents the SKU version.

This step is very important and, if you try to flash the wrong version, your device might brick.

Bear in mind that the space required for this release is 1 GB; therefore, downloading it might take a while.

Below are the download links, but I would like to remind you that flashing the wrong SKU version of the firmware can lead to malfunctions or bricking the PadFone, so you better check twice before updating.
